why would atheists debate you? you sound pretty atheistic to me. if anything they would jerk off to you

I fundamentally believe that things influence eachother in ways that go beyond our current comprehension of said things. I don't really have a layer of explanations to spread here but it does shape the way I relate with the world. it's the one thing that sometimes drives me to say im religious - in the literal meaning of the word - but i don't like to go into it because talking about it is annoying

you are correct that we wont see it in the conventional sense. itll just be a relativistic sort, where one guy experiences 20 years while everyone else experiences 200 (i didnt actually do the math) and so you are kinda traveling in time but its shitty time travel

also yes i am 98% through with my astronomy/plan sci bachelors

aw that's good im so proud of my tiny son

n yeah the second kind was what i was talking about like when ur orbiting just outside the event horizon of a black hole bc spacetime is so warped around smthn like that that it slows down ur perception (that's not rly a great word for it i guess bc it implies that it's just ur mental perception but it's also how ur physical body experiences it but i can't think of a better word so Fight me) of time but it still counts as a kind of time travel into the future imo

i think the modern atheist type is about not believing anything but im kinda saying its provable. anti-theist even

though honestly i just said it to be funny and im not sure why

most atheists r good n chill until u get to the ones that carry around richard dawkins books and openly be rude to religious ppl. i don't believe anything but i don't feel like it's rly relevant to who i am as a person and ppl who shape their personalities around it r embarrassing

I believe that genocides during war are largely misrepresented to take eyes away from the same thing the opposite side contributed to. Or even deaths in general. The Spanish Flu is a good example, with both sides hiding the fact that anyone in their respective countries were being affected by the flu. What I am saying is that most of anything you've read about before the technology age should be taken with a grain of salt, seeing how easily it is to manipulate the information.

I never see atheists that annoy me in real life unless they are like 15-18 years old in which case it's entirely forgivable. occasionally I see some grown ass edgelord on the internet though starting arguments for no reason about religion, and it's almost never constructive or poignant in any way.

in the same vein as trippy conspiratorial stuff, do you guys have your own idea of god? what is it?

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - Tempest - 06-02-2016

i guess when u think about it..... life is really just a analogy for no man's sky....

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - Tempest - 06-02-2016

i believe in supernatural things to an extent, not like whooooo spooky ghosts but i do think that there are spiritual things that happen outside our realm of understanding

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - Ben - 06-02-2016

i have 0 idea of any god. if there is a deep interconnectedness in us in any jungian way, or if we all have some sort of shared but unstated understanding, its simply the random interaction of nonrandom processes. it can in principle be reduced to a set of a priori rules or laws but in practice this would be impossible

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - Ben - 06-02-2016

that is, we experience that interconnectedness because we are all ultimately governed by the same set of rules and we attribute it to something greater due to our inability to see the forest for the trees. nothing more

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - Tempest - 06-02-2016

i didn't mean spiritual in terms of religion also i meant spiritual as in like actual spirits n shit i haven't decided if i believe in any sort of god or anything yet. i definitely don't want anything to do with religion, but you don't have to be part of a religion to believe in things, yknow

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - fat lesbian - 06-02-2016

i like the cute lil idea that if there's any higher power it's all the fundamental forces of the universe at work. like we haven't fully figured out gravity 100% (or as close to it as we can) like we have w the other FUNdamental forces so it works in ways we don't fully understand n it's everywhere and influences everything and causes some of the weirder most unexplained shit in the universe so why not gravity?

RE: Do you believe in any crazy shit, spame? - fat lesbian - 06-02-2016

i don't think there's a god like any mystical bearded man in the sky who keeps a list of all our deeds or anything tho. that just seems silly to me. but idc if people wanna believe it. i get why they do not everyone can handle the finality of death or the reality that the universe just doesn't and can't know or care that we're here and that's ok. ppl who act like they personally have never struggled w that are lying and imo kinda annoying
