well, if you were 15, then it probably isn't a school memory for you, because you act as if you haven't had any form of education since kindergarden

To keep the thread on track, a random school memory I had was when I was in middle school. There was these commercials for the flashlights that don't have batteries. Instead they have copper coils in them with a loose magnet that you shake to charge it. The commercial claimed a car could run over it and the flashlight would still be perfectly fine. My grandmother bought one for me for Christmas. It made me so excited that I decided it would be a good idea to bring it to school to show off to people. Anyway, I was in band class before it started (we usually had 10 or so minutes of downtime to setup) and I was showing it off to 3 other kids in the class. I explained to them how it worked, unscrewing the top as well to show them the strength of the magnet inside. But then I wanted to impress them, I remembered back to the commercial about the car running it over. I told the other kids "this flashlight is pretty strong, I can whack it against the step right here and it won't crack open." I gave it a couple of good hits against the carpeted step and the plastic flashlight just bounced off. One of the kids asked to see it, so I obliged and handed it over. Turning it around in his hands a bit, looking it over, he then exclaimed with a smug expression "This doesn't look so strong, I bet I can break it." Before I can even say a god damn thing he is putting all of his weight into an overhead swing and hits it in such a way that makes it explode in half. It wasn't until later when I got home that I found out from my grandmother that she had got a knock-off brand of it. Even though the flashlight got smashed, that magnet kept me entertained for quite awhile by how fucking powerful it is.

RE: random school memories - Ben - 03-17-2019

we had a math teacher who was fairly young (probably mid 20s) when i was a freshman in high school and my friend who was a girl and i had to take a standardized test after hours (i went on a cruise for 2 weeks and she had mono and missed it due to illness)

because he was "chill" he let her listen to music on her ipod, then started to heckle her about it and eventually took it and started going through it and im pretty sure he was trying to find pictures of her on it

a lot of girls warmed up to him because he'd flirt with them and he was a notorious creep

later, after she and i graduated we met up again and she said that her 8th grade english teacher added her on facebook (not that weird tbh) but then wanted to meet up and have dinner
