I watched possibly all of them when I was in middle school/high school

I understood a lot of the references, but my friend who is huge into anime started listing off a ton of fucking shows and moments that are references while staring at him blankly

Zeta, 08th MS Team, and Stardust Memories are the best IMO, but they are all pretty different IMO. It depends on what you're looking for.
