I would continue, but there is currently a media blackout in Aleppo

Both sides are claiming victory so it's pretty confusing at the moment

BUT IN THE MEAN TIME

Kurds make impressive gains in the last two days, controlling 90% of the town

Here is the progress from yesterday

And here is today

I expect the town to be completely under the mustard kurds by the next week kicking out the charcoal ISIS, while paving the way of completely cutting off ISIS from the outside world (i.e. all the countries supplying them from the Turkish border)

RE: THE SYRIAN CLUSTER FUCK (civil war) - grue - 08-07-2016

go kurds!

RE: THE SYRIAN CLUSTER FUCK (civil war) - Delirious Biznasty - 08-07-2016

So anyway, judging by what limited or fruitful knowledge you have on this civil war, how do you feel about it?

Even if you are indifferent, please post a reply.

I've learned a bit about Kurds and the fact that they might be regarded as the largest ethnic group without a country of their own, but there's probably no chance that Iran and Turkey are ever going to allow Kurdish autonomy, right?

Iran I don't know too much about with their relations with the Kurds

But Turkey will never allow autonomy or anything of the like as long as a dictatorship is in power, since they discriminate the Kurds horribly. So much so that I can see another genocide happening because of the current leader.

Autonomy in Iraq though seems incredibly promising, seeing as even Sadam was trying to set up this for them. Now under a "democratic" government with US backing bother Iraq and the Kurds, I can see them holding on to their newly declared country.

Yes, I have forgotten to update this

The kurdish forces are preparing for an offensive towards Al Bab

Aleppo, though, has been fucking hell on earth

The rebels had finally broke the siege but the loyalist forces are fighting tooth and nail to get it sealed again

This is what Aleppo currently looks like

and this is the closeup on the corridor

As you can see, though, this is from the 11th. There has been very small gains on either side since this image was made. Most of the fighting is happening in the 1070 apartments

Hooray, the good guys won! I think! I still don't understand these maps or why they're made!

RE: READ THE FIRST POST IF YOU'RE CLICKING THE THREAD (Syria Civil War) - Delirious Biznasty - 08-18-2016

The kurds don't fuck around, they're already on the offensive as of today

The villages circled were liberated as of yesterday/today

The gap is closing in Aleppo for the FSA, which would mean a continuation of the siege

The dark red are places of interest and strategically important
