my fots:

-are developers going to start actually releasing things for it? they show skyrim being played on it- this is a step in that direction, but who knows yet
-what are the specs when in handheld mode? tony is right, it looks choppier but that may just be the video editing.
-i love the symmetrical little controller 2-player gimmick, even if it ends up being impractical
-the pro controller looks good and not just a copy of the xbox like the wii u pro controller was
-they show many people playing splatoon on many consoles. this implies a lower price to me? maybe im overthinking it
-they also show mario kart 8. i wonder if there will be a discount for people who bought all the wii u versions of this stuff thinking it would be maintained
-cartridges: i feel this will end up being a problem ("we cant put witcher 4 on the switch because you can only fit so much on a little cartridge") even though i personally love the feel of cartridges. im not a professional though! nor do they tell you how that works, exactly
-the normal controller looks dopey as hell, but i really enjoyed the gamepad so if the same hands that approved that approve this then i can forgive it
-can you play games in "mobile" mode on a big tv? that is, can you use it as a wii u gamepad as you look at the tv? i didnt see them do this, but them not showing it means to me they are admitting the wii u gimmick was wacky BUT it seems awfully convenient for backward compatibility. also my eyes are shit and i actually liked looking at the gamepad every now and then
-what's the space like? the 32gb and etc wii u is a joke compared to the 1+ TB next gen consoles. also does it have an ethernet port

so yeah my biggest questions are: how do the games/cartridges work? and will it get attention from third parties? will it Compete?

as far as the design goes overall, i think its really cool. base controller looks dumb but if it feels fine then im ok

i assume the cartridges are just like, sd cards in a fancy little container so there shouldn't be an issue with space i think

King Boo was in it though, it's probably DLC (or exclusive)

In the video, at 0:27, when I saw the dude transfer the buttons from the controller to the portable screen I thought it was just unnecessary busywork... Would've preferred to just have both the controller and the screen have buttons all the time
At 1:20 another dude slot the portable screen back into the console, but he didn't bother to remove the buttons, he just used a normal controller; I thought yeah, just do that!

The only benefit I saw for removable buttons was at 1:41 where I saw the two-player mode and thought okay this idea is good

However, swappable buttons would be pretty cool if certain games called for it, like a fighting game that came with a fight stick for your controller. I wonder if Nintendo would do that.

dont people beat the shit out of their fight sticks just by using it seriously? do you want a nice fragile screen in the middle of your buttons

i think they said the games are basically like sd cards which can definitely hold bigger games. there's still gonna be physical releases so storage shouldn't be a huge issue.

from software is developing for it lmfao i hope it's a souls game and not armored core bc a souls game on a "casual" console is just funny to me

I think using a separate controller would be optimal for a fight stick setup anyway, can't have a big screen making a big gap between the stick and buttons

Or can it? I'm not a fight stick expert
