anyway, ehlers danlos syndrome which is a genetic connective tissue disorder that has many subtypes that range from potentially debilitating but not life threatening to kill you by 45, but according to an ekg and echocardiogram my heart is structurally normal so since i am nearly 28 it is unlikely that i have that subtype. ~however~ i have severe hypermobility in most of my joints to the point where they are unstable and can hyperextend without my control or with any gentle amount of force (see: my shoulder) combined with skeletal dysplasia in at least my hips. this leads to frequent dislocations for some people or in my case frequent subluxations which are partial dislocations that tend to fix themselves without medical attention. they also all impinge, meaning that in at least all of the ball and socket joints in my body the joint forcibly snaps back into the socket which wears at the cartilage and causes osteoarthritis. i also have autonomic involvement which causes my heart rate to spike to 170-200 when changing positions which is super fun. i am supposed to wear compression stockings every day but im hot so ill stick with doing my best. it is also the reason that my legs are too long and that my skin is always very clear and very soft. my physical therapists have told me that there is basically no amount of running or climbing that i will ever be able to safely do but that’s fine because idk why the fuck they thought I do that anyway.

funny because it’s a diagnosis people seek because it qualifies you for disability and there’s no solid genetic test for it but i kinda just thought i had low iron n needed infusions Bc pills hurt my tummy and things just bend ways lol
