i mean, on one hand the reasoning behind what i said is not that obtuse considering the first sentences of his post

I sent this to ben but he didnt reply meaning it probably wasnt what he was looking for, but seeing as i spent a little time on this I thought I might post it so it wasn't a total waste of time, even if you do ridicule me mercilessly... (this is a kinda second draft of the first half)

i never learned San Andreas after all. I don't have the time to run a 5-6 hour game, even if i do learn it all in stages. I did learn what's known as "Trevor%" in GTA V though, which is up to the jewelly store heist (the mission where you unlock trevor). Much less complicated to learn, and it's about an hour and a quarter long. I grinded up to 20th-ish on the leaderboard. haven't played in a while though so i need to properly derust.

I just watched sub 1:25 trevor% run and I still don't get why only the first 3rd of the game is deemed enough. Too long to competitively speed run otherwise?

Yeah, mostly that. The purists don't like the fact that it exists, but I don't see the problem with having, for want of a better phrase, a starter category.

Not everyone have the time to grind a 6/7 hour long run...
