I dont even like anime

but so many people do and even dedicate their lives to it so what am i missing!!!!

like, i've tried watching some w/ my friends over the years but i always lose interest and sometimes the dialogue seems forced due to language dubbing and makes it hard to follow, so am i a special brand of autistic or are there others out there who feel this way too??

this is a 1000% serious thread and ifeel safe posting it in risbolla's forum, pls dont rain judgement on me it just feels right ok

but like

i wanna get into anime! so whats an anime so good that even non-anime fans are like "ok that was p cool"

cowboy bebop is incredibly accessible for anime. Very movie stylish, voice acting isn't bad, good soundtrack
The first episodes are a little light hearted but the later episodes get into backstory and it's nice and gritty at times. Good violence but not over the top and good animation

Ghibli movies and Cowboy Bebop are good suggestions

I would add Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Reminds me of watching DBZ in the mornings back in school but its way better. Really interesting characters and a cool plot

Ghost in the Shell 1995 movie is one of the first animes I watched and its good shit. Dark scifi like matrix/blade runner if you dig that

Fuck I came here to suggest brotherhood too. I suggest the undubbed version but the duh is ok. Really good on the road style like Samurai Champloo. The setting is interesting, the characters don't fall flat and the story is so much more interesting than the original AS version.

If you're looking for balls off the wall crazy with an insane amount of fan service, Kill La Kill is pretty neat (undubbed).

Same with JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, one of my favorite shows/mangas. Make sure you get past part one and then judge it because everyone hates it but you gotta watch it for exposition. Imagine a bunch of body builders posing constantly that are also vampires from the Mayan era. (Or aztec I don't remember). Then part 3 is where everything changes completely with new abilities and shit. If you liked DBZ this show might be your fancy. After part one, it gets goofy and "bizarre". 9/10 series would recommend.

I only do it if the jap voices are unbareable or the dub is good

Dragon Ball (whole series) is an example of a good reason to watch the dub. Adult Swim and Ghibli movie's do a really good job at dubbing that I haven't even seen Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop or Space Dandy in jap. I think it's the same for Ghibli movies.

but yes, I know dubbing can get really bad

most of the time though I just watch with subs
