played some o' dat pc action, the performance is kind of middling. it runs quite well for like 10-15 minutes at a time, then my game will suffer through some real bad performance for about 5 minutes. also lots of spikes. i've found a few fixes that i have yet to try; apparently the game comes with gsync enabled by default, and can only be changed through an XML file, and if you don't have a gsync monitor it's poops.
that being said i don't think it's a game worth $60, not right now. it's beautiful and there are some interesting things to come across but after about 6-7 hours of play you've likely seen about everything you're going to see. the pitfall of procedural generation is that you start to notice the 'pieces' that put together planets as you see them.

i think she said more like a week which can be considered real time if shit is closer together than a literal astronomical scale in the video game

oh, stuff is pretty far away but you have these pulse engines that make you go super fast, i haven't run into anything that's taken me more than like a minute to get to so far

she might be doing it wrong then lol ive heard mixed stuff about it regardless so i probably won't buy it until it's very on sale

To me as someone who has only seen very minimal gameplay I just don't really see the appeal. It doesn't look like there is much to do, shooting rocks the game while the some randomly generated weird things walk around you. I'll stick to the space stage of Spore if I want boring space travel

there is almost nothing to do but explore planets basically, it does that part fairly well but everything else is massively lackluster. i wouldn't pay more than 30 bucks for it tbh, until they add some more stuff

i think there is a vague concept here that is interesting:
there are many, many environments generated according to some criteria. you cant put your finger on the criteria until you look at enough environments. the challenge of the game is in getting yourself to enough of these environments to obtain a greater understanding of the artistry
as far as im concerned, the game doesnt need to be anything more than this. unfortunately it doesnt even appear to be appealing in this way which is sad

the real issue is just that procedural generation makes everything start to look same-y. there's just not that many actual different environments; the ground is a different color sometimes, and the planet might be really cold instead of really hot, but that doesn't even affect how the planets look. the monsters are insanely bad; almost all of them look ripped directly out of random spore creature creator videos.

yes, thats what i gather from the footage ive seen. even still, if it was cool to look at 100 things only and if it was hard and mysterious to get to 100 then id still play it. if you trip and fall over every option in the first 4-5 hours then, lame
