It's quite likely that Kimmy is broadcasting a fake war to the people of North Korea and convincing them that they're winning. Isn't like, creating a whole fake reality kinda their thing?

honestly it depends on who u ask. different defectors have wildly different accounts and then u have the perceptions that our government skews (the iron knee) so the real unsettling thing is we just... don't know what it's actually like there
