i guess we dont have a VR thread? ive been reading up on the vive a lot, because im considering buying one. this interview with gayben and others at valve is really interesting. kind of convinced me to wait, because they seem so positive about solving relevant problems soon on a later version of the headset

do you have any experience with VR stuff? do you have a "dog" in this "race"? what do you think of it? do you think it's a novelty, or do you think it's here to stay?

definitely don't think it's a novelty or a fad. some sort of VR has been a dream for decades. now that we have the technology to have SOME form of it, it's just a matter of improving/expanding it. there will probably be dozens and dozens of uses for VR technology in the future. I'd like to see entire rooms built for VR purposes. like laser tag arenas but for awesome and creative and intense VR experiences. in the words of the great american performer leonardo dicaprio:

I've been thinking about getting a Rift for a while now it's gaining a lot of popularity on sim racing, just need to make the investment

Pretty much, most of the guys I work with are using a VR now, some of them told me you can get motion sickness until you get the hang of it

yeah one of the twitch streamers i watch was playing iRacing with VR and he had a bit of trouble.

tbh i think some people just take to it better than other people
