pretty much any instant noodles are gonna smell like a litter box except for ramen. I don't know why that is, but ramen smells like a gourmet fuckin meal.

i had sushi with barbecue eel on it once and holy fuck it was so delicious but apparently when you barbecue eel with the skin on, the layer between skin and meat gets all slimy and greasy and UGH

that kinda happens with most things. that's why when I roast a chicken I do the whole 'under a brick' thing, because if the skin's pressing against the meat it seems to almost melt that weird slimy layer that always cause the skin to fall off the chicken. that probably doesn't make sense but it does make a difference somehow.
